The theme for our January story slam was FRESH START and featured eight storytellers. We heard stories about career changes, home renovation projects, and even one about an astronaut’s mother. Our MC for the evening was Philip Given. The evening resulted in a tie between Mark Lentz and Edward Vasta.

Mark talked about growing up with an abusive father, and how he finally found ways to channel his anger. Edward told the story of a day trip where he had his first skiing experience, and learned some things about himself.

Mark and Edward each won an exclusive York Story Slam journal from our friends at Story Supply Co. and earned the first two spots in our Grand Slam in November.
