Bad Idea; Hilarity Ensues

Mina Edmondson wins our August story slam.

Mina Edmondson wins our August story slam.

The theme for our August story slam was BAD IDEA and featured eight storytellers. We heard stories about defying death, encounters with law enforcement and wild animals, getting tattoos in questionable environments, and even one story about a guinea pig riding the family dog like a horse. The evening was hosted by Luanne Sims, who has been a Grand Slam champion at both the Delco and West Chester Story Slams and a winner at The Moth Story Slam in Philly. She recently had a story featured on the Moth Radio Hour.

Our winning story this month came from our reigning Grand Slam champion, Mina Edmondson, who told us about the time she took her four children on a spaceship to the moon. Mina won an exclusive York Story Slam journal from our friends at Story Supply Co. and earned a spot in our Grand Slam in November.

Big thanks to our 2020 sponsor, KBG Injury Law, whose generous support has made this season possible and given us the flexibility to make the necessary shift to virtual events.

Save the date for our September 15 story slam. The theme is TEEN SPIRIT, and our MC for the evening will be Corey Wolfe. Registration will open soon for audience and storytellers. Make sure you’re signed up for our newsletter so you’ll be the first to know.
